Hawaii is an excellent destination of choice for study tours for people of all ages and backgrounds. Situated in the heart of the Pacific, it offers invaluable resources for learning about peace studies, natural and marine sciences, plantation-era and immigration history, the Hawaiian monarchy and Polynesian voyaging, American culture, and English language learning.
The Hawaii Global Education Foundation (HGEF) promotes and provides educational opportunities for the community—especially for youth—that enhance learning and foster global perspectives through cultural exchange programs.
We contribute to global human development by providing cultural exchange programs for youth, with the hope that they will grow into globally minded individuals and deepen their understanding of the world. We also hope that the youth of Hawaii will participate in educational programs in Japan and other countries, gaining valuable opportunities for cultural exchange and international experience.
The Hawaii Global Education Foundation (HGEF) was established in 2016 to support visiting students and professional groups from other countries—especially Japan—during their study tours in Hawaii. Since its founding, HGEF has supported many schools in sending their students abroad to gain broader global perspectives and strengthen their communication skills.
Based in Honolulu, HGEF also provides services on other islands. We offer not only trip planning, but also on-site coordination and language assistance throughout the study tour.
